1980's Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar ref. 3940 "Second Series"
This spectacular 2nd series Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar ref. 3940 in an unpolished 18K yellow gold case with cavernously deep hallmarks, from circa 1988/89, needs no introduction and leaves nothing to be desired, as it is probably the most iconic wristwatch of the modern era.
This particular example, fresh to market, has achieved a beautiful rosy case patina presumably from having never been polished, sharp hallmarks and a flawless dial with sunken sub-registers and powered by the famous self-winding micro rotor based caliber 240Q. This comes paired on its correct, equally as patinated and sharp 18K PP&Co signed buckle.
