1960's Movado Gentleman with Box and Booklet
A sweet 1960’s Movado Gentleman with a mirrored and guilloché island dial in 18K yellow gold with its box and booklets powered by an automatic bumper movement.
Movado of this era made a lot of amazing chronographs and triple calendars. This offering is something slightly off the beaten path. There were several iterations of what was eventually known as the “Gentleman” and this is one of them. Known for its isle of Guilloché at the center of the dial, offset buy a sub seconds hand, this watches symmetry is ASMR to eyeballs.
Not to mention, many of Movado’s offerings of the era were gold filled or 14K. This 35mm case is nice and solid 18K yellow gold with strong hallmarks in tact. Vintage from the brand are starting to attract many collectors and this example is a prime reason as to why.
Running well and keeping accurate time this watch has an aftermarket strap and buckle. With original box and booklets.
