1960's Jaeger-LeCoultre Deep Sea Master Mariner ref. E558 "Barracuda"
An impeccably well preserved and super dope 1960s Jaeger-LeCoultre Deep Sea Master Mariner ref. E558 “Barracuda”, a super-compressor style dive watch that has achieved cult status amongst collectors, for its inner rotating bezel, 36mm linear brushed and faceted tonneau case, matte black dial and ultra reliable in-house self-winding JLC caliber.
This particular example stands out for its condition, with a presumably unpolished case, matching lume, which in the sun is a pleasing mint green, and in ambient light a subtle cream, retaining its rarely seen correct thin handset, most of these examples have wider service hands and of course, its two off-center hash marker crowns, the top for rotating the internal dive bezel and the bottom for setting the time.
If you’re looking for a tool watch that stands well away from the norm, start here. This watch was purpose built and intentionally designed.
