1930's Patek Philippe ref. 534 Two-Tone Sector Dial w/ Extract
A stunning and rare 1930s Patek Philippe ref. 534 in a 30.5mm 18K yellow gold case, with a striking two-tone sector dial with applied dot dash indices, its correct unsigned large crown, pencil lugs and hand set, on a Patek signed suede strap and incredibly rare period correct flat beveled 18K YG Patek signed buckle, with its extract from the archives dating its sale to 1939.
This watch wears wonderfully on the wrist. Despite its size, the large two tone sector dial to case ratio makes this watch pop. Lug to lug is a pleasing 38mm, and inclusive of the crown it measures 32.5mm across. Its 18mm lug width gives this watch a similar profile to the famous ref. 96.
The star here is most definitely the dial. A desirable two-tone sector in this condition never cease to amaze me. Its long enamel signature is clear and raised, with very minimal loss of body over the decades. Notably, the comma and accent are present. All dial fixtures and extraneous enamel detailing are also clear with amazing character and coherences present.
The manual wound Patek Philippe caliber 12-120 is running well and keeping great time. We do not have service history.
